Authentise Makes 3D Print Streaming More Secure with Guardtime Partnership

In anticipation of the possible need for Intellectual Property protection in the 3D printing era, Authentise has partnered with Guardtime, the inventor of Keyless Signature Infrastructure.  The new partnership will further enhance the security of Authentise’s 3D printables streaming service to ensure the IP safety of 3D model designers and publishers.
Authentise is a(n increasingly) well-established company that offers streaming services for 3D file printing.  By streaming 3D models, instead of allowing users to download them directly (as is the case with Thingiverse), Authentise prevents users from producing multiple, unlicensed copies of 3D prints or distributing 3D files without the original designer or publisher’s intent.  Without the file on their hard drive, a user will have a difficult time printing it or distributing it illegally.  Their latest collaboration with Guardtime will protect the file streaming service even more, through the use of “defense-grade enforcement and auditing mechanisms” and “continuous monitoring tools,” according to the press release.…
