CGtrader Contest Seeks the “Zuckerberg of 3D Printing”

Online 3D models marketplace, CGTrader, has hosted some interesting design challenges in the past, like the 3D printed meme contest covered earlier this year, but their latest challenge has higher aspirations than finding a 3D printed Grumpy Cat.  The shop’s 3D Printing Kids Challenge hopes to seek out the “Zuckerberg of 3D Printing” by sparking innovative ideas in young 3D designers and spurring the next generation of engineers.

The new challenge from CGtrader is meant to further introduce 3D printing to young people who are already learning to create 3D models, possibly inspiring them to invent something brilliant to solve everyday problems.  Between August 22 and November 20, anyone under 14 is invited to design a 3D printable model that will improve their home life, school life, or leisure time.…
