What’s better than 3D printing? Chocolate. And what’s better than chocolate? Chocolate photos made with 3D printing! Jason Lee of Somerville, Massachusetts has taken to Kickstarter to bring this delicious concept to the public with ChocoForm.
Using a 3D printer and vacuum forming machine at work, Lee has begun creating edible 3D photographs out of chocolate. The process is a simple one: Lee converts a photo to a layered 3D object and 3D prints it. He then vacuum forms the print to create a negative from PETG plastic, which forms the basis for a food safe chocolate mold. Lee throws the chocolate into the mold and, voila!, a chocolate photograph.…
