rp+m Partners with H.C. Starck for 3D Printing New Metals

Ohio-based rapid prototyping and 3D printing firm rp+m is continuing to expand its capabilities and partnerships.  In addition to developing tungsten 3D printing with ExOne, the company has also obtained AS9100C certification, allowing rp+m to meet international standards for aerospace manufacturing. Now, the firm has announced an agreement with Germany-based materials supplier H.C. Starck to build up their metal 3D printing business.
As a result of the agreement, the partners will work to develop new materials, alloys, and products for 3D printing.  The duo has listed, as an example of their potential collaboration, the 3D printing of a molybdenum or tungsten part for medical imaging equipment (replacing dated lead components).…
